Congratulations to nine local organisations sharing over £22,000 in community benefits this quarter as 4 Winds announces its successful funding bids!

Awards were considered by the board of trustees at their recent meeting and funding was confirmed for a variety of initiatives in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area.

Community art group ‘People Who Paint’ were successful in their bid for £836 for an art exhibition at the Maxwell Centre, where another successful group ‘Cowdenbeath League of Board Gamers and Roleplayers’ are also based – they receive £500 to support their work.

There was good news for Cowdenbeath Civic Week who receive £3,000 towards their Gala this year, with a further £2,000 awarded to My Cowdenbeath CIC for a community consultation exercise in the town this summer.

An exciting new venture with Radio Cowdenbeath CIC saw the trustees award £3,500 towards set-up costs of a new community radio station in the town.

£340 was awarded to 2nd Cowdenbeath Brownies and there was a £6,000 grant for Lumphinnans Bowling Club to improve the facilities at the well-used community venue.

Groups in Lochgelly were also awarded funds in this round, with £2,550 heading to Lochgelly Band to improve accessibility at the band hall, and there was £4,000 towards the costs of Lochgelly Albert FC to help keep the club going for all the players in the year ahead.

A total of £22,726 was issued in this round of funding.
