Chair of the board of trustees, Eleanor Martin, commented, “We are really pleased to be able to support these excellent good causes with funding from 4 Winds, which is further demonstration of the long-term benefits from the wind farm at Little Raith.”
“We know from experience that so many community groups can struggle to find funding to support the excellent work they deliver in the local area, so we realise how lucky we are to be in a position to help. I know how passionate these groups are about helping their local community, so it’s just really rewarding to see how this investment can make a difference.”
Lumphinnans Floral Group plan to use the cash injection to improve the village with new displays in the raised flower beds and planters. Central Park Community Trust plan to invest the funding into their Tots & Kickers programme to help keep costs to a minimum for families taking part, which encourages physical activity for parents and young children from an early age.
Over the 10 years since the wind farm became operational, 4 Winds has invested nearly £740,000 in community life, supporting more than 130 groups deliver vital services in the four priority communities of Auchtertool, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly & Lumphinnas.
Groups receive their awards from 4 Winds acting Chairperson, Eleanor Martin.
